Our little man turned two today! I am kind of in shock but also can believe it. Time goes so slow and then really fast all at the same time. We started the day with waffles, whipped cream, bananas and a dinosaur candle. We sang him happy birthday all morning as we got ready for the day. In thinking of what Lew would love to do on his birthday (seeing as his vocabulary isn't stellar yet and couldn't tell me), I knew being outside and doing something new would be right up his alley. So I decided to take him to the Tulip Farm. I hadn't been since I was kid, but reading up on it I knew it would be perfect.
My aunt and mom came with us and it was truly a spectacular day! The sun was peaking out of the clouds as we walked through rows and rows of beautiful flowers. Lewis was especially thrilled with the yellow ones.
He was so serious the whole time! It took everything out of us to get a smile on his face. But I know he was having a great time. I could just see the little gears in his head turning and turning with everything that we saw. I think he was kind of in shock the whole day! We managed to get a few good pics before exploring the fields. Also, yes Edie's bonnet was on backwards the whole day. Good going mom.
We took a small tractor ride from our car to the fields but took a big tractor back. He was so thrilled with that and kept saying "wow'! We had corn dogs, played in a hay maze, went through little tunnels and explored all the fun they had their. Which was quite a lot. I know we'll be back next year as he'll be able to enjoy more of the fun activities .
Our little man is two and he is such a joy. The way he says yellow, Lala for Lucy, wow, yeah, dadd-y, mama mia. Watching him with the hose. Digging in the back yard. The way he loves dandelions and picks all the yellow flowers for mom. He is such a sweet boy who kisses his own owies and brings sister her toys. He's full of energy and spunk and sass and I can already tell TWO is going to be pretty fun.
