I Heart You Day

Valentines Day is right around the corner. A lot of people don't like this day cause of all the cliches it brings. But I kinda like it. One extra day to devote extra time and attention on the one you love.

This Valentines Day I'm going to try and do some things for Cory that I know he will appreciate. 

I found this poster at Urban Outfitters and am going to frame it for him and hang it above our little bar (it's actually pretty big and details a ton of styles/types of beers):

Outfit Post: Thrift Shop Horses

Ok this is a sad excuse for an outfit post, but in my defense I don't want anyone taking pics of me (I still feel a little weird posing just for outfits), can be a little hard to get good shots of myself. But here we go:

I fell in like with this blouse instantly, and for 8$ it was a steal! My sister took me to some thrift stores while I was in Seattle and I found a few items. I love going thrift shopping; it's fun to see what you can find. I don't go very often cause sometimes the trip is a bust but this time was good. 

On the note of thrift shopping, this song comes to mind. It gets me pumped up (and kinda makes me feel cool). WARNING: It does have some cuss words so be forewarned. Not the kind of music I listen to all the time, just when Im in that kind of mood.

I got baby fever

I've heard that right after you get married, most woman have a little case of baby fever. We are so madly in love with our husbands, think they are the most cutest-manliest-beings alive, not to mention all the cookie we get (yes I said it), and so baby fever ensues. 

I too have another reason for maybe getting baby fever. As a nurse I work with a lot of woman. And I love it. However, most of my particular bunch of colleagues are also pregnant. Lets say.. 9.. of them are either pregnant or talking about becoming pregnant. What do I hear all day...baby stuff! So when I'm a little bored I wander on to sites like this.

This site has some cute things but are wayyyy overpriced. Good ideas for some DIYs though.

Where has your baby obsessed mind wandered to lately?

Waiting till Feb to Wed

This past weekend Cory and I would have been on our Honeymoon if we had waiting till Feb to wed. Cory proposed in late April, so initially I thought the coming summer would be too soon to get married. So we decided on February 2, 2013. This day was special for me because my grandparents had wed that day back in 1947. How romantic would that be?! Getting married on the day your grandparents did! So we started the search for venders, chefs, honeymoon ideas. With this search we noticed one common theme... Prices for everything kept going up. We didn't want to spend so much money while at the same time skimping on the things we (ok, I) really wanted for our wedding. 

Cory had been living at this house which was set on 3 acres. We thought hmmm what about here? And so our wedding prep went into hyper speed with a countdown of a little over 3 months. A lot of work was involved in making the outside space wedding-beautiful-appropriate, not to mention all the other details of a wedding. But with lots of help from friends and family, our dream wedding came to life. 

Here's to 5 months of loving you Cory as your wife!!

My Closet: Layering

Ok, warning, I am not someone who is really into fashion. If something is pleasing to my eyes and its comfortable, I go with it. I'm trying to take a little more pride in what I wear and put a little extra thought into my outfits. I'm thinking I'll start a new series to motivate myself to take a little more risks with my wardrobe. (Hold your breath though! We'll see how this goes.) Here is my first outfit post.

I only got the top of my outfit cause the bottom was jeans and some black boots. Like I said, I'm trying! We'll see how this goes :)

Apartment Living: Seattle style

My sister lives in an apartment close to downtown Seattle. Her home has wood floors that were painted black. Weird. Why would anyone paint wood floors black?! However, it works for this place. Tall ceilings, perfect white walls, black floors, and the way she decorates makes this place just perfect. Let's take a look:

That's all the pictures I grabbed but the rest of the home had a lot to offer as well. Decorating isn't one of my strongest suits so I love to see how other people create their homes. I think she did a great job for such a small place. It feel like you are staying or visiting a comfy, beautiful hotel.

Weekend in Review: Seattle Visit

For my weekend I visited my sister in Seattle. We had so much fun. We spent our time cooking, talking, making fancy drinks, walking with her adorable puppy, and just enjoying our time together. 

Having a sister is great. Having a twin sister who also happens to work in the same line of work as you is amazing. We can not see each other for weeks and still pick up right after we left off. 

It is so wonderful to see my sister and the life she is creating for herself. I could only be so proud of her.
