I believe in the power of positive thinking. When someone is truly motivated to reach their goal there is no stopping them. "Few things in this world are more powerful than a positive push… A word of optimism and hope. A 'you can do it' when things are tough" -Richard M. DeVos. I love that quote. It's so true. My friends and I decided to make a goal this weekend and help each other keep it. We chose to hike to the summit of Saddle Mountain.
We all have goals in our life. Go further in our career, make new friends, exercise more, be more thankful. Every chance we had to take a break, re-assess our goal, and just be still in the beauty that surrounded us, we took. And I think it helped. I think that's how it is with life. We set goals, go so far sometimes, and need little breaks, pauses to remind us why we set those goals and what we need to do to keep moving toward them.
There is something strong in thinking you can. Taking periods of rest to remember why you chose to make this goal in the first place. And the sweet feeling of knowing you have made it is all worth it.

Here's a little throwback for you. Cory and I did this hike just a few months after meeting each other with a church group. We had just started dating. Cory's infamous eyes closed pose.

We have to go back this summer. The views in winter are breathtaking, but summer…WOW. All the green just adds to it.
