Birthday Boy 2

     April 20th 2018

Our little man turned two today! I am kind of in shock but also can believe it. Time goes so slow and then really fast all at the same time. We started the day with waffles, whipped cream, bananas and a dinosaur candle. We sang him happy birthday all morning as we got ready for the day. In thinking of what Lew would love to do on his birthday (seeing as his vocabulary isn't stellar yet and couldn't tell me), I knew being outside and doing something new would be right up his alley. So I decided to take him to the Tulip Farm. I hadn't been since I was kid, but reading up on it I knew it would be perfect.

My aunt and mom came with us and it was truly a spectacular day! The sun was peaking out of the clouds as we walked through rows and rows of beautiful flowers. Lewis was especially thrilled with the yellow ones.

He was so serious the whole time! It took everything out of us to get a smile on his face. But I know he was having a great time. I could just see the little gears in his head turning and turning with everything that we saw. I think he was kind of in shock the whole day! We managed to get a few good pics before exploring the fields. Also, yes Edie's bonnet was on backwards the whole day. Good going mom.

We took a small tractor ride from our car to the fields but took a big tractor back. He was so thrilled with that and kept saying "wow'! We had corn dogs, played in a hay maze, went through little tunnels and explored all the fun they had their. Which was quite a lot. I know we'll be back next year as he'll be able to enjoy more of the fun activities .

Our little man is two and he is such a joy. The way he says yellow, Lala for Lucy, wow, yeah, dadd-y, mama mia. Watching him with the hose. Digging in the back yard. The way he loves dandelions and picks all the yellow flowers for mom. He is such a sweet boy who kisses his own owies and brings sister her toys. He's full of energy and spunk and sass and I can already tell TWO is going to be pretty fun.

Taco Bout a Party

April 14th 2018

Lewis is turning 2 and Cory 31, so we celebrated with Tacos and Margaritas!!

We had all the family over that could make it and had a lot of fun eating and drinking and celebrating our guys. Lew and Edie matched in little cactus shirts and my aunt made the cupcakes above.

Lew got some pretty sweet gifts and had so much fun showing off his two new favorite tricks. Holding up 2 fingers and saying/pointing to everything yellow. I'll never forget how he yelled "yellow yellow yellow" at pretty much every colored item in the room just to make us clap. Once we all clapped he would join in too.

I wanted to have a party for both the boys since their birthdays are so close together. And this theme fit the bill. Both boys love chips, tacos and guac..and mom loves margaritas haha! It was such a sweet time celebrating two of the best guys in our lives.

Edie's1st Vacation

April 5 2018

Last month the kids and I took a trip to the coast! Cory stayed home and worked on the bathroom and was able to get a few mornings to sleep in. I got a few hours alone with Lewis during the weekend so it was a win-win! We left Saturday morning and with a few nursing stops and a pit stop to the Aquarium, after 4 hours we arrived at our beach house!

Edie slept most of the way there, save for the nursing breaks. We arrived about 45 minutes after Lew's nap time and he was so excited to run around and stretch his legs I decided to skip his nap all together. Learning to let go of our schedule a bit while on vacation and it was a good choice. He helped my mom unpack the groceries and help prep for dinner. Edie just hung out. That first night the kids went to bed pretty early and we stayed up and played Scattegories. My brother and his girlfriend also came along so it was a lot of fun!

The next morning, Lewis and I snuck away for about an hour to check out the beach. We were walking distance so that made it super easy. This was his first time to the beach since before he could walk. So it was all exciting! He love to dig and get his hands all dirty. I forgot how messy the beach was! But boy oh boy was it fun. We lucked out with some amazing weather. Especially being the middle of march. It felt like a dream. After lunch and a nap for the kids my parents, the kids, and I headed back to the beach. It was such a perfect afternoon!

I'm so glad we took the opportunity to get a away for the weekend. It was a great first trip for Edie and I am so proud of myself for going. It can be daunting going out of town with little ones, but traveling with them have been some of my greatest memories.

Until next time Oregon Coast!
