Seattle Visit: All the Girls

Last weekend my mom and I ventured up to Seattle to visit my sister. I couldn't believe I hadn't been up there since our NYE visit. Even though it's only a 2.5 hour drive, it seems like it takes much longer. Sad thing really is that my sister and I work completely different schedules (me days, her nights) and it's near impossible to find a time we are both off at the same time. This weekend worked though, even if we were only there for less than 24 hours. It was magical.

It was so much fun driving up with my mom. This was our first visit that we had been able to do with all us girls. We spent the early afternoon walking around Pike Market, rather tasting our way around. Even though I've been to Seattle now half-a-dozen times, it's never less exciting. There are always my usual buys when I visit including the pasta at the Pappardelle's booth, and the Olive Oil and Balsamic at  Sotto Voce. I've tried many an olive oil and these are the best. Hands down.

We grabbed lunch at Oddfellows Cafe + Bar. The lunch was pretty tasty, but I prefer this place for breakfast. That is where they really shine. After walking around a bit more, we headed home and just chatted the last part of the afternoon away. We then got dressed up and headed downtown again for dinner and drinks.

But first, we had to take a few photos:

Having my sister and my mom so close to me brings indescribable joy to me. There is something about our relationships that I just love. True, meaningful, only space for unconditional love. This visit was all about that.

For dinner we headed to Tavolata to stuff our faces full of pasta. And yes we did that, amongst all the desserts on the menu. This place is known for their pastas and the large portions they provide. We stayed there talking and eating until just about closing time.

As I mentioned above, we ate all the desserts on the menu. How did we manage that? Well my mom has a way of talking to people. Any person she meets she can get them to talk and talk and pretty much tell you their whole life story. She just has a way with people. Well the person she chose this night was the Manager for Tavolata. Lucky us she struck his fancy and he ended up giving us all the desserts on the menu, for no cost!! He was such a sweet guy and it made the night just that much sweeter.

Seattle, you are like my twin city. Not only because my twin is up there { hehe twin city ;) }, but it just feels like a second home. Portland is great, and I love living here, but I'm really glad Seattle isn't too far away. To many more visits this summer!

And one last pic from the weekend. Kind of sums up the trip perfectly.

To girls weekends and laughter,
