Monthly Lewis 10

T E N months !!

Lewis we are obsessed with you! You are so attentive and point out all the little details of everything. From ants or pine needles on the ground, the screws on your toys, and all the birds in the sky. I think Babcia was the one who taught you how to point and you haven't seemed to stop doing it. I hope you always do it! I love seeing that little chubby index finger and hearing your little "uhh" as you make us look to what you are seeing.  We just have to learn not to point at peoples faces :)

You love putting toys in your mouth and crawling around the house. It is as if you can't leave that toy behind but know you have to keep moving forward. You like my belts as of lately. You are starting to pull yourself up on furniture and love pushing your little chair around the downstairs. Mostly because it makes the l o u d e s t noise as you do it and you still love loud noises. You are already a bruiser and tend to face plant at least once a day; got your first bloody nose this month too!! You parroted "dog" about three times this last week and pointed out Lucy when I asked you to.

You are eating more and tend to eat better when we all sit down and have a meal together. You still are nursing like crazy and my body just can't keep up! You have a full day of formula a week. Pretty proud that my body has helped to make all those juicy rolls of yours. You are such a sweet boy and love giving us open mouthed slobbery kisses. You love your independence but still need plenty of snuggles throughout the day. You are so good about telling us when you are tired and go down for naps and bedtime pretty easy. I still am getting up with you 2-3 times a night, but you've started to go fall back asleep till 7 on most mornings.

Your dad and I love watching you grow and we cannot say enough WE LOVE YOU LEWIS!!

You + ME

February 5, 2017

YOU: learning so much about your body and what it can do. crawling/"walking"/talking up a storm. you have the most delicious toes and cheeks that I can't help but nibble on. learning to give kisses but already know what a good hug feels like. really into pointing at things, especially finding the screws in toys and pointing at tiny holes or pine needles on the floor.

ME: loving you more and more each day. nervous that actual parenting will have to start soon. excited to watch you grow and develop your own little loves and interests. happy you are healthy. relieved to be over the hardest "baby times"- but also sad that it has gone by so quickly. praying you grow up to be a happy man and that I can love you in the ways you need to be loved.

Monthly Lewis 9

January 20 2017

Our baby boy is 9 whole months!! I feel like I was just typing up his one month recap and now here we are thinking about his first birthday! This month was probably my favorite by far! He's growing and learning even more and it has been such a joy watching his personality come out!

Lewis love to chat! He is learning more and more of the sounds his little mouth can make and rarely does that kid stop chatting.  He likes to point with his chubby little pointer finger, proudly saying "uh uh uh!". He points at things and people, and then when they come over he chuckles and babbles away a bit more.

He's moving all over the place and has been loving "walking" while holding onto our hands. He's starting to climb on things and has already gotten 3 bruises and a bloody nose! Poor guy! He's pretty good about not putting the things he finds on the floor in his mouth. I'll see him pointing again at little pine needles or fallen food , just pointing and pushing them around with his finger. However, he loves getting into the dogs water bowl and despite us moving it around, he always finds it. He still loves his walker - running fast and lifting up his feet to coast into walls, his little turtle car, bath time, and walks. He puts his washcloths and socks in his mouth , keeps them in there while he uses his hands for other things.

He's becoming choosy with his foods and doesn't eat a whole lot, but only has those two bottom teeth to use! He's sleeping and napping so much better! Gave us an 8 hour stretch recently (hasn't done that since my first day back at work at 3.5 mo old) and has been taking 1hr + crib naps for all his naps. I'm a little sad we didn't have "the last" nap with him in my arms or in our bed, but I'm happy he is getting the rest he needs and I am a much happier mama with the alone time I get during the day.

He has the goofiest cackle and tends to laugh at most things, including himself. He is such a happy guy and I love that about him. I prayed that he would find the little joys in life, hold onto them and let that joy just consume him. I continue to pray that he doesn't take life or himself too seriously, is proud of himself, and loves who he is. I love the little boy he is becoming and I can't wait to see what is around the corner for him!
